Tour Overview

The Marangu Route — affectionately known as the "Coca-Cola Route" — is the oldest, most established path up Mount Kilimanjaro. It's the only route offering hut accommodation, making it the preferred choice for climbers who want the comfort of sheltered sleeping quarters instead of camping. Our 6-day itinerary includes a crucial acclimatization day at Horombo Hut, which boosts your summit success rate to over 70-80% compared to just 50% on the rushed 5-day version.

The route approaches Kilimanjaro from the southeast, taking you through lush rainforest, open moorland, stark alpine desert, and finally the glaciated arctic summit. You'll sleep in dormitory-style huts at Mandara, Horombo, and Kibo — complete with solar lighting, comfortable beds, and (at the lower huts) running water. This is the Kilimanjaro experience without the tent.
