Sustainable Service Learning in Tanzania

For students currently enrolled in college or university

Experience a once-in-a-lifetime experiential education opportunity in Tanzania. We encourage motivated, adventurous students to join us. You will interact with local people and places in a hands-on learning setting, and take part in activities you may never have the chance to experience again.

Earn a certificate in Service-Learning and/or Experiential-Learning, working alongside faculty who have experience teaching study abroad at the college level.

• Optional Extension to Zanzibar — a 4-day, 3-night excursion which includes a walking tour of Stone Town, Prison Island, snorkeling in the Indian Ocean, a spice plantation tour, and a seaweed factory visit
• Optional Extension to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro — a 6-day, 5-night guided hiking excursion following the Marangu (aka “Coca-Cola”) route
• Enjoy a 4-day / 5-night game drive to Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park
• Visit Meserani Snake Park, the Masai Museum, and the Masai Women’s Co-Op
• Tour and shop in Moshi town
• Participate in a service-learning project at the OKAT children’s center
