Embark on a luxurious 5-day journey through Northern Tanzania's most iconic landscapes. This carefully crafted safari takes you from the ancient baobabs of Tarangire to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, the endless plains of the Serengeti, and the lush groundwater forests of Lake Manyara. With premium accommodations and expert guidance, this is the ultimate East African wildlife experience.
You will be picked up from the airport by a Zatatep Tours representative and driven to your luxury accommodation in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, relax and prepare for the adventure of a lifetime!
Your guide will collect you after breakfast for the 2.5-hour drive to Tarangire on good tarmac roads. The park is named after the Tarangire River — the only source of water for wildlife in the dry season. Famous for elephant families congregating by the river, giraffes, bushbucks, and predators including lions and leopards.
The huge and ancient baobab trees, some over a thousand years old, create an unforgettable landscape. Picnic lunch inside the park, then transit to accommodation in Karatu.
Drive up into the cooler Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The crater looks like a forgotten world — sweeping savannah, acacia woodland, and glistening lakes concealed by steep volcanic walls. Created when a volcano exploded 2-3 million years ago, covering 260 sq km.
The Crater provides the best chance of seeing endangered black rhinos. After exploring, transit through to the Serengeti, entering at the south.
The Serengeti is truly spectacular — famous for vast open grasslands and the annual Great Migration. Millions of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes move in annual patterns seeking fresh grazing. You'll have excellent chances of encountering lions, cheetahs, and leopards.
In the afternoon, start your journey back to Karatu, hopefully enjoying more wonder on the way!
Drive to Lake Manyara National Park — compact yet epic. The Great Rift Escarpment towers over the park's western boundary. The shallow salt lake is home to thousands of wading birds including flamingos and over 500 species.
Watch for baboons, elephants in thick forest, and the famous tree-climbing lions. Picnic lunch in the park, then farewell to your guide and drop-off at Arusha or the airport.
