Sustainable Service Learning in Tanzania

Experience a once-in-a-lifetime experiential education opportunity in Tanzania! We encourage motivated, adventurous students to join us. You will have the chance to not only interact with the local people and places in a hands-on learning setting but will also see and participate in activities you may never have the chance to experience again. Earn a certificate in Service-Learning and/or Experiential-Learning working with faculty who have experience teaching study abroad at the college level.

Educational Programs

To establish professional cooperation and coordination with other similar national and international institutions in the initiation and conduct of cooperative programs for the mutual benefit of the cooperating institutions.

To provide correspondence tuition to distant students within the country and abroad, establish and operate scholarship programs in a variety of curricular.

To implement economic and social oriented projects for and on behalf of various organizations and institutions through research, capacity building and training.

Learning Swahili Language at the educational institutions and practices within the surrounding community - a study abroad program for foreign students from different universities around the world. It helps to promote the national language to other countries.

Community Development

To support production and distribution of educational materials for social progress, international understanding, and global stability.

To encourage communities/schools to establish childhood development centers, providing health/nutrition services while enabling mothers to engage in legal income activities.

To conduct counseling, legal awareness programs for widows, children, and minorities affected by gender bias, systemic injustices, and legal abuses.

To assist street children and orphans impacted by HIV/AIDS by meeting some of their basic needs.

To empower people through knowledge-sharing, dialogue, practicum, and outreach programs for capacity building.

Cultural Awareness

To promote among potential overseas clients sufficient knowledge and accurate understanding of Tanzania, its people, their cultures and the country's diverse natural resources and potential for development and investment leading to national economic growth.

To carry on Eco-Tourism promotion and development within Tanzania and overseas, including visiting and advertising the National Parks and coordinating mountain climbing activities in Tanzania.

Our cultural programs include traditional dance performances, local cuisine experiences, and visits to historical sites that showcase the rich heritage of Zanzibar and Tanzania.
